Meg & Joe’s wedding at the Kimpton Hotel Allegro was everything you would ever imagine a Chicago wedding to be. It was chic, stylish, and a beautiful love story to be told!!
This bride and groom know exactly what they like and they set out to plan their wedding day with the intention of fulfilling their own personal vision. Their style and attention to detail can be seen in every aspect of their wedding day from the venue they chose to the Vera Wang gown that the bride rocked!! After speaking with Meg & Joe they confided in me that the Kimpton Hotel Allegro was the first and only wedding venue that they toured, how is that for knowing when something is a perfect fit?! They fell in love with the Hotel Allegro wedding venue the moment they laid eyes on it, each of them drawn to different aspects of the venue. Joe is a big fan of art deco and Meg loves old Hollywood glamor! It would come as no shock that they described choosing their Chicago wedding venue as a ‘no brainer. Once you watch the video above, you will definitely notice more of that recurring theme of art deco and old Hollywood glamour!!
This couple’s proposal story is just as unique as their wedding day style. They went out on the town for a date night a local Chicago favorite Girl & the Goat, after they dined they headed home for a night of couch surfing with their favorite TV line up and Joe popped the question right then and there, in the comfort of their own home! Meg had a feeling that something was up when she saw how antsy Joe had been acting until he pulled out a diamond ring and asked her to be his forever. Meg, of course, said yes, and loved the fact that their proposal was so intimate.

What’s your story? What are ya’ll into? How do you spend your days? What’s important in life? etc, etc…
We love Disney, we love the city – walking around, shopping, eating burgers, enjoying the riverwalk, LP zoo, etc. We are pretty simple, and our happiness is hanging out enjoying each other’s company. Our family and friends are important to us, quality time one on one is important to us. We are very open and honest and do our best to listen to each other. Our happiness is making sure the other is happy.
Why do you want to capture your wedding on video?
Memories are super important, and capturing this day is vital because we plan on it being a whirlwind!
Why did you pick us to create your wedding film?
I really enjoyed the quality of your video. Also, my friend went to HS with Leo from I Do Leo and recommended his company. Leo sent me your videos, and I was hooked!
The proposal? …Tell me everything, all the gushy details!
We went to dinner at Girl & the Goat for a date night, then came home and got into pajamas to catch up on our favorite TV shows (fall lineup!). Joe was pretty antsy, but I didn’t realize what was going on until he came out of our bedroom with a diamond ring! he was nervous as hell and forgot to get down on one knee and actually ask me to marry him. I kept saying “is this real, is this happening”? It was great. Loved that it was in our home, just the two of us.
Kimpton Hotel Allegro… What made you choose this venue over all others?
It’s simply beautiful and so ‘us’. Joe loves art deco, and I love old Hollywood glamour. It was a perfect fit! We really connected with the wedding coordinator, and the price was right – we were sold immediately and signed the next day. Never saw another venue and so happy we locked that place down!
What experience do you want to give to your guests?
A fun and loving party. I want them to bask in our happiness and just enjoy themselves. It’s such a special (and overwhelming) day for us, so I want everyone to just lay back and enjoy it all. Take in all the good food, music, and company.
